James Chisum, a 37-year-old resident of Modesto, California, tragically lost his life on October 21, 2018. Chisum was shot once in the chest with a shotgun while holding his 18-month-old grandson. The incident occurred at his home on Yosemite Boulevard and El Vista Avenue in Modesto. Despite the severity of the attack, the child was not injured. The assailant, Stephen Patrick Tisdale, believed Chisum was a "drop-out" from the Norteno criminal street gang, which motivated the attack.
