On May 10, 2024, 46-year-old Modesto resident Bryan Tenbrink was fatally shot following a reported verbal argument on the 400 block of Kerr Avenue. The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m., prompting a response from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office. Before deputies arrived, a bystander transported Tenbrink to a nearby ambulance, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The investigation led detectives to Chico, approximately 170 miles north of Modesto, where they arrested two individuals on the night of May 16, 2024. Michael Tidmarsh, 48, was apprehended on suspicion of murdering Tenbrink, while Brandy Brown was arrested for being an accessory after the fact. Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between Tidmarsh and Tenbrink. Tidmarsh is being held without bail, and Brown's bail is set at $20,000.
