Trevor Blevins, a 36-year-old sergeant with the Pismo Beach Police Department, tragically lost his life on December 30, 2018, in his Nipomo home. The incident occurred in the evening when Blevins was reportedly handling a loaded firearm. According to the coroner's report, he was measuring the firearm to purchase leather for a holster when it accidentally discharged, striking him in the face.
