Edgar Modesto Lopez, a 43-year-old resident of Bakersfield, California, was tragically killed on January 1, 2019. The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of South H Street in South Bakersfield. Lopez was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Bakersfield Police Department (BPD) immediately launched an investigation, classifying the case as a homicide.
