Jacob Jesus Hernandez, 15, male, was identified by the Kern County Coroner after a late-night shooting in east Bakersfield. Police say the gunfire broke out around 11:42 p.m. on September 26, 2025, near Highland Knolls Drive and Morning Drive, where officers found two wounded teenagers in the 4200 block of Morning Drive. Both were rushed to a hospital; the 16-year-old survivor had minor injuries, while Jacob Jesus Hernandez, 15, male, could not be saved.
