Monica Marie Abarca, a 29-year-old Latina, tragically lost her life on March 26, 2019, in Compton, California. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records, she was fatally shot. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of East San Luis Street around 10 p.m. on that fateful Tuesday. Deputies responding to the scene found Abarca suffering from at least one gunshot wound to her upper torso. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries shortly thereafter.
