Rey David Cruz, an 18-year-old resident of Oxnard, California, tragically lost his life on December 8, 2019. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning in the Southwinds neighborhood of Oxnard. Authorities responded to the scene after hearing a series of gunshots while patrolling the area. A bystander flagged down the officers, leading them to Cruz, who was found lying in an alley on Perkins Road, near West Clara Street.
