Teena Louise Maldonado, a 38-year-old Latina, tragically lost her life on May 3, 2020, in Compton, California. She was shot and killed in the 600 block of North Santa Fe Avenue. On that fateful evening, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call regarding a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, they found Maldonado with gunshot wounds, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The authorities have not released additional information about what led to the shooting, and both the weapon and the suspect remain outstanding.
Teena Maldonado was a beloved mother of three children, ages 16, 11, and 6. She worked as a cashier at Costco and was known for her outgoing personality and love for dancing. Her sister, Anna Maldonado, described her as a great mother who was always with her children and also took care of her own mother and her mother’s two teenagers. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, her family held a limited service with no more than ten people, which left many friends and family members unable to pay their respects.
The investigation into Teena Maldonado’s death is ongoing. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has urged anyone with information to come forward, offering anonymity through Crime Stoppers. Despite the passage of time, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved.
