Quinndale Gahie, a 35-year-old Black man from New Orleans, was killed in a late-night shooting on July 5, 2012, on the St. Claude Avenue Bridge. Near 11 p.m., a driver headed eastbound across the bridge came upon a grim scene: a man lying in the roadway, covered in blood and unresponsive in the middle lane. Police responded and determined he had been shot multiple times, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
