William Barnes, a 24-year-old man, was fatally shot in the Iberville neighborhood of New Orleans on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. in the 1400 block of Bienville Street, where officers from the New Orleans Police Department found Barnes suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office later formally identified the victim as William Barnes. T
