On January 7, 2017, Louis Monroe, a 52-year-old man, was shot and killed in New Orleans, Louisiana. The incident occurred at the intersection of Dale and Warfield Street. Officers from the New Orleans Police Department responded to reports of gunshots around 2:33 am on January 9, 2017, and found Monroe already deceased at the scene. Initially, the cause of death was unclassified, but it was later determined by the Orleans Parish Coroner to be a homicide due to gunshot wounds.
