On May 31, 2015, Milton Reed, a 56-year-old African American man, was fatally shot in New Orleans, Louisiana. The incident occurred in the Algiers neighborhood, a community that has experienced significant challenges related to crime and socioeconomic issues. Reed was found deceased at the scene, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The New Orleans Police Department responded to the incident and initiated a homicide investigation.
