On November 20, 2013, 21-year-old Verdell Lewis and 18-year-old Kerry Pierre were killed in a double homicide in New Orleans. They were found inside a residence on the 6000 block of Lafaye Street, both having suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. The New Orleans Police Department identified Robert Garrett, age 22, as a suspect in the case. Garrett was subsequently wanted on two counts of Second Degree Murder, and a search for him ensued until he was arrested months later.
