The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Rosecrans Avenue, where Lewis was involved in a fatal altercation with a security guard named Umeir Corniche Hawkins. The confrontation began when Lewis entered a market without wearing a face mask, which led to a heated argument with Hawkins.
