On the night of May 21, 2023, at approximately 10:53 p.m., 29-year-old Javier Hernandez was fatally shot while driving in Gardena, California. Hernandez was traveling northbound on Chadron Avenue in a white Toyota Corolla when he passed a group of four to five individuals standing on the west side of the 14800 block. Without provocation, members of this group opened fire, striking Hernandez multiple times in the upper body.
