In the late summer of 2012, the life of a New Orleans man, Jason 'Jay 9' Alexander, was tragically cut short. On September 23, 2012, at the age of 30, Alexander was killed in an act of violence that left his family and friends mourning his sudden and devastating loss. His death was officially ruled a homicide, adding his name to the city's long list of unsolved murders.
