Justin Jamel King, 27, a Black man, was killed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the early morning hours of July 6, 2013, after gunfire erupted inside a home on St. Katherine Avenue. Police were dispatched around 1:30 a.m. on reports of shots fired, and when officers arrived they found King badly wounded from multiple gunshot injuries inside the residence at 6069 St. Katherine Ave. He was rushed for medical care, but he later died at the hospital.
