Eric Martin Steele, aged 55, was found dead in his North Highlands apartment on December 14, 2021. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office initiated a homicide investigation following the discovery of his body. The investigation began after a resident of the apartment complex on Harrison Street requested a welfare check on Steele.
