Dalonnie Lance Wyatt-Surgeon, a 26-year-old resident of Carmichael, California, tragically lost his life on January 1, 2022, in a shooting incident in South Sacramento. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting on the 7300 block of Berna Way just before 5 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Wyatt-Surgeon lying in the road, having been shot at least once.
Despite immediate first aid efforts and transportation to the hospital by medics, he succumbed to his injuries en route. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office later identified the victim as Dalonnie Lance Wyatt-Surgeon.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Detectives believe the incident to be isolated, but no suspect information has been released as of yet. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the motive and identify any potential suspects involved in the case.
In addition to the investigation into his death, Dalonnie Lance Wyatt-Surgeon was involved in several legal matters prior to his passing. On March 4, 2021, Gregory Wayne Jones filed a personal injury lawsuit against Wyatt-Surgeon in Sacramento County Superior Courts, related to a motor vehicle incident. Furthermore, on May 26, 2020, a family lawsuit was filed against him by the County of Sacramento, indicating ongoing legal disputes.
