Joseph Arias, a 22-year-old resident of Chula Vista, California, tragically lost his life on August 30, 2022. On that fateful evening, Arias and his stepfather, 42-year-old David Bruley, were driving near Valle Lindo Park when they were both shot multiple times. The two men attempted to flee the scene in their pickup truck but ultimately crashed into a parked van on Brandywine Avenue. When the police arrived, they found both men unconscious in the vehicle.
