In the early 20th century, a dedicated railroad police officer lost his life in the line of duty in Lackawanna, New York. Special Officer Christopher Reynolds, a 27-year-old male, was killed on April 19, 1911. His death occurred while he was patrolling the Ridge Road Yards of the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railroad.
