Patrolman George E. Claus, a dedicated officer of the Buffalo Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 19, 1912, at the age of 47. Claus was responding to a disturbance caused by three men who had attempted to enter a wedding reception but were turned away. In retaliation, the men began vandalizing a nearby fence.
