Philip Mangano, born on April 13, 1898, in Palermo, Sicily, was a prominent figure in the Mangano crime family in New York City. He served as a caporegime and later as the second consigliere under his brother, Vincent Mangano, who was the boss of the family. Philip Mangano was deeply involved in the International Longshoremen's Association and New York City politics. Despite being indicted on murder charges in 1923, he was never convicted.
