On November 30, 1978, the body of 25-year-old Gary Gardine was discovered in the trunk of a burning automobile in Brooklyn, New York. Investigations revealed that Gardine had been shot to death prior to the vehicle being set ablaze. It was determined that the motive behind the murder was Gardine's attempt to defraud Chris Rosenberg in a marijuana deal.
