In the spring of 1982, the life of a young Brooklyn man was cut tragically short, leaving behind a legacy of unanswered questions and a case mired in controversy. John Aratico, a 22-year-old male, was fatally shot four times in the chest near his home in the Mapleton neighborhood on April 9, 1982. The investigation into his murder would soon become entangled with a disgraced NYPD detective and his ties to organized crime.
