Joseph Galapo, a 30-year-old police officer with the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on August 16, 1988, during a narcotics operation in Brooklyn, NY. Officer Galapo was part of a 'buy and bust' operation in the Sunset Park area, targeting drug transactions.
