On July 12, 1979, Giuseppe Turano, the owner of Joe and Mary Italian-American Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY, was killed in a brutal mob hit. The incident occurred during a lunch gathering at his restaurant, ostensibly to celebrate his upcoming vacation to Sicily.
