Raymond Blount, a 16-year-old from Manhattan, NY, tragically lost his life on August 4, 1991, following a violent altercation at the Marc Ballroom, a nightclub near Union Square. The incident began when Blount punched another teenager during a confrontation. Shortly after, he was fatally shot. The case quickly drew attention, leading to the arrest and conviction of Fernando Bermudez, who was identified by witnesses as the shooter. Bermudez was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison.
