In the Morris Heights section of the Bronx on the evening of January 19, 1998, a dedicated NYPD detective lost his life in a violent confrontation. Sean Carrington, a 28-year-old male, was participating in a buy-and-bust drug operation on Andrews Avenue. Carrington, along with his partner, was part of a team targeting a known drug location in an effort to curb the narcotics trade in the area.
