On November 17, 2003, eight-year-old Daesean Hill, affectionately known as "DaeDae," was tragically killed in a shootout in East New York, Brooklyn. Daesean was walking home with his stepfather and younger siblings when gunfire erupted between rival drug crews. A stray bullet struck Daesean in the chest, causing a fatal wound.
