Yevgeniy Borisovitch "Eugene" Marshalik, a 19-year-old auxiliary police officer with the New York City Police Department, tragically lost his life on March 14, 2007, in Greenwich Village, New York. Marshalik, along with fellow auxiliary officer Nicholas Pekearo, was patrolling the area when they encountered a suspect who had just committed a brutal murder at a local pizzeria.
