On a spring evening in Syracuse, New York, the life of 17-year-old Dylan Cheek was tragically cut short. On May 8, 2013, the young man was walking alone in the 1400 block of South Avenue at around 10:15 p.m. when a dark-colored car approached him. Multiple gunshots were fired from the vehicle, striking Dylan. He was rushed to Upstate University Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
