In the early morning hours of a summer Sunday in Manhattan, the vibrant life of 21-year-old Kenny Jimenez was tragically cut short. On August 17, 2014, just before 3 a.m., Jimenez and his friend, 29-year-old Francisco Mercedez, were standing in front of a deli on Broadway in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood. The night was shattered by the sound of gunfire as an assailant opened fire from a white sedan.
