Steve Rodriguez, a 22-year-old resident of Washington Heights, Manhattan, tragically lost his life on September 14, 2019. The incident occurred just after midnight when gunfire erupted in front of a bodega located at Saint Nicholas Avenue and West 186th Street, merely two blocks from his home. Rodriguez was shot in the hip and subsequently succumbed to his injuries at Columbia University Medical Center. The shooting shocked the local community, as Rodriguez was well-known in the neighborhood.
