In a tragic and brutal act of violence, 20-year-old Dominque Darrell Harris, a Black/African American male from Buffalo, NY, lost his life on November 22, 2014. On that day, Harris and his 19-year-old friend, Naim Holt, were outside a residence at 261 Langfield Drive in Buffalo when they were confronted by an armed individual. The man, identified as Bobby M.
Price III, then 19 years old, approached the two and brandished a handgun.
In a horrifying sequence of events, Price ordered both Harris and Holt to get on their knees. He then proceeded to shoot both young men in the head in what was described as an execution-style murder. The shocking nature of the crime sent ripples through the local community and prompted an immediate and thorough investigation by the Buffalo Police Department.
Following the incident, law enforcement swiftly identified and apprehended Bobby M. Price III as the suspect in the double homicide. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies and extensive forensic analysis, leading to a strong case against Price. The Erie County District Attorney's Office prosecuted the case, ultimately leading to Price being charged with two counts of Murder in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
In June 2016, to avoid a trial, Bobby M. Price III pleaded guilty to the charges against him. The following month, in July 2016, a State Supreme Court Justice sentenced him to 20 years to life in prison for the murders of Dominque Darrell Harris and Naim Holt. The conviction and sentencing brought a measure of legal justice for the families, though the profound loss of their loved ones remains.
