Courtney Yates, a 27-year-old resident of Albany, New York, tragically lost his life on May 5, 2015. Yates was an innocent bystander caught in a drive-by shooting on Lark Street and Sheridan Avenue. The incident occurred when Jaushi’ir Weaver, then 16 years old, fired 14 rounds into a crowd, aiming to avenge the murder of Latwan Hankins, who had been killed six days earlier.
