Lamont Mason, a 20-year-old resident of Manhattan, New York, was tragically shot and killed on September 27, 2015. The incident occurred in broad daylight at the Robert F. Wagner Houses, a public housing complex located in East Harlem. Mason was struck by a single bullet to the chest at approximately 4:41 p.m. He was immediately transported to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
