Dezmon T. Smith, a 24-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, was tragically killed on March 23, 2017, in Troy, New York. Smith had been visiting friends and family in Troy when he was ambushed and shot by two men as he was about to enter a taxi on Sixth Avenue. The attack occurred around 9:10 a.m., and Smith was shot in the torso. Despite managing to get into the back seat of the taxi, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to Albany Medical Center Hospital.
