On a November morning in the Bronx, the life of 22-year-old Raul Melendez was tragically cut short. On November 3, 2017, Melendez, a young father and maintenance worker, was found inside his Wakefield apartment with fatal gunshot wounds to his head and stomach. It was his own mother who made the devastating discovery. Emergency services were called to the scene on Bronx Boulevard, but it was too late; Melendez was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
