On the evening of Thursday, June 18, 2026, a burst of gunfire shattered the night in the Soundview section of the Bronx, leaving two men dead and a community in shock. One of the victims was 53-year-old Egbert Rutherford, a hardworking man known to some by the nickname "Dread."
