Ivan Valentin, a 40-year-old resident of Staten Island, New York, was found dead on December 2, 2017. His body was discovered inside a Dodge Durango SUV parked on Holland Avenue in Mariners Harbor. Valentin had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. According to local residents, Valentin lived in the vehicle and often helped with odd jobs around the neighborhood. His death was a significant event in the community, marking one of the several homicides that year on Staten Island.
