On a quiet Sunday evening in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans, tragedy shattered the calm. On June 26, 2016, 38-year-old Errol Gant Jr., a male resident of the area, was fatally wounded in a shooting that has since left a lingering mystery. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Kent Drive, a residential area just off a fairly busy thoroughfare.
