In the Bronx, a 37-year-old Hispanic male named Miguel Aviles tragically lost his life on the night of June 9, 2018. The evening took a violent turn in the Belmont neighborhood when gunfire erupted in the courtyard of an apartment building on East 183rd Street. When police arrived at the scene around 10:30 p.m., they discovered Aviles with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Another individual, a 25-year-old woman, was also found at the scene with a gunshot wound to her leg.
