In the early morning hours of October 7, 2018, Frank Snyder, a 35-year-old male rapper from Brooklyn known by his stage name Hollywood Play, was fatally shot outside the Tavern Lounge in the Woodhaven neighborhood of Queens, New York. The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. as Snyder, a father of six, was hosting a birthday party at the venue. He was a regular performer at the club, often hosting events on Saturdays.
