On August 3, 2016, 40-year-old Gerard Howard was shot and killed in New Orleans, Louisiana. The incident was part of an ongoing wave of violence in the city, and Howard's death contributed to the rising number of homicides that year. Police found Howard with multiple gunshot wounds, but despite an investigation, no suspects were immediately identified. The case has since become one of the many unsolved homicides in New Orleans.
