On a somber Sunday evening in New Orleans, March 24, 2013, the life of Lawrence James Brown, a 53-year-old African-American male known affectionately as 'Son,' was tragically cut short. Remembered as a man with a big heart, he was a father, a cook, a handyman, and a leader to many in his community. His death was part of a devastating sequence of events that also claimed the life of his stepson.
