On January 26, 2012, Shaquille Cooper, age 20, was shot and killed in New Orleans, Louisiana. His death occurred as a result of gun violence, adding to the significant number of homicides that New Orleans was experiencing during that period. Shaquille was known as "Shaq" by his friends and family and left behind a son, as well as his mother, siblings, and other family members who mourned his untimely death.
