In the late summer of 2019, a tragedy unfolded in the quiet town of Riverhead, New York, culminating in the death of 71-year-old Sarah Brown. On the morning of August 27th, police were called to the Doris Avenue home she shared with her husband, Robert Brown, 65, after reports of a man carrying a handgun. What followed was a tense standoff that would last for nearly four hours.
