On a cold November morning in Buffalo, New York, the life of 23-year-old Lakeeta Holloman was tragically cut short. On November 15, 2019, at approximately 8:40 a.m., Holloman was shot near Prospect Avenue and Maryland Street. She was rushed to Erie County Medical Center, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The vibrant young woman's death left her family and community in mourning.
The investigation into her death quickly pointed to her ex-boyfriend, 41-year-old Clarence Lamont
Bryant. Authorities alleged that Bryant had been waiting for Holloman as she returned to her vehicle after dropping their child off at a nearby daycare. In a brazen act of violence, he shot her in the head in broad daylight before fleeing the scene. The U.S. Marshals Violent Felony Task Force later located and apprehended Bryant.
Bryant was subsequently charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. Following a three-day trial in February 2022, a jury found him guilty on both counts after only an hour of deliberations. In March 2022, Clarence Lamont Bryant was sentenced to the maximum of 25 years to life in prison for the murder of Lakeeta Holloman. He also received a consecutive sentence for a separate drug-related charge.
