On September 4, 2023, police responded to a call at a residence on Zelmer Street. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of Joyce Brown and her 61-year-old husband, Anthony Brown.
Investigations by the Buffalo Police Department and the Erie County Medical Examiner's Office revealed a grim sequence of events.
It was determined that Anthony Brown fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself in a murder-suicide. The authorities have not reported any prior domestic incidents or arrests involving the couple.
